THE WESTERN MASS YOUNG PEOPLES
CONFERENCE COMMITTEE

If you are interested in getting active in AA come join the Western Mass Young Peoples Conference Committee.  Don't let the name fool you the term "Young People" is defined as room to grow and young at heart.

Join us at one of our monthly buisness meetings and see what we have to offer.  It's a great way to get to know other people in AA - and be of service to the AA Fellowship.

Western Mass Young People's Business Meetings
are held on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month at 6:30pm
at the Grace United Church on 474 Pleasant Street in Holyoke.

Western Mass Young People's AA Speaker Meeting
is held on the 4th Saturday of each month at 8:00pm at the
Grace United Church on 474 Pleasant Street in Holyoke.
The meeting is followed by a sober function that supports the
August 2008 Western Mass Young Peoples AA Conference.

2008 WMYPCC AA Conference to be held in August, 2008

Articles of Purpose

1.       Once a year to help the Young People of Western Mass to put on a weekend Young People’s AA Conference and/or a one day Young People’s Roundup.

2.       To sponsor events throughout the year in order to be self supporting and to provide Young People with activity and experience in Service.

3.       To assist Young People’s Groups in any way possible, when asked, consistent with AA traditions.

                               Young Peoples Charter 

1.       The Western Mass Young People’s Conference Committee should meet on the third Saturday After The Conference and elect officer’s for the next weekend Conference and/or Roundup.

2.       At this meeting a Conference Trustee will be appointed every other year on the odd year and his or her term will be for two years. Whoever is elected should be a past or present Delegated to the General Service Conference.

3.       Before a Conference is officially announced, the current Conference Trustee should be notified by mail and asked to attend the deciding meeting. 
It is suggested that no person serve as a Committee Officer with less than one year of continued sobriety. Chairman and CoChairman should have had two years experience in Service and/or have at least three years continued sobriety.

4.       A Conference or Roundup can be announced at any time of the year by members of the Committee who are ready to assume full responsibility for the Conference or Roundup.

5.       In the event that no Conference or Roundup can be announced at the first meeting, the Committee that was responsible for the preceding Conference or Roundup will continue to speak for the Conference, sitting with the Conference Trustee, and to conduct all its affairs.

6.       The Chairman of the preceding year’s Conference will be a co-signer of all Conference authorized checks. If absent for any reason, the Co-Chairman of the preceding Conference will take his/her place. In his/her absence, the Trustee will do so.

7.       The Conference will maintain a Prudent Reserve. Funds over and beyond Conference needs will go back to AA.

8.       If the Conference should be dissolved or not convene for whatever reason, the Prudent Reserve Fund will be placed in the name of whoever is serving as Conference Trustee at the time, and will remain there until a new Conference is convened by six or more members who meet the standards herein suggested.

9.       No decisions that have been voted and passed at a committee meeting will be changed outside a committee meeting.
